Casino

“Casino” is a house in the cottage ornée style and is thatched on the two faces that are visible from the road. The house is set in a large landscaped area of c.6.4 acres. An objective of this design is to retain an appropriate setting for the existing house. The design solution is a perimeter wall constructed of natural materials (stone, old brick, shells) in a crafted patchwork appropriate to a garden wall in the cottage ornée style. Behind the wall is a series of small courtyards with buildings of varying heights from 2 to 4 storeys. Natural materials dominate with extensive use of timber cladding, stone and glass.
