Station Point, Clongriffin
Station Point is a mixed-use development fronting directly onto Clongriffin’s Main Street. It comprises 63 dual-aspect apartments and duplex units in two separate blocks of 4 and 5 storeys. There are 6 ground floor shops below the first building. Parking is at a semi-basement level, below a landscaped podium. The buildings make a positive contribution to the streetscape and are highly urban in nature. The elevations have a strong, fine-grain, vertical rhythm punctuated by bays and multiple entrances, which in turn create a very active street-frontage. The buildings are finished to a high standard; cream Portugese limestone is used extensively to highlight corners and bays, fleury-cut blue limestone is used to form the shop-fronts, red cedar cladding is used at penthouse level and on the south-facing rear, and renders of ochre and terracotta are chosen to compliment the cool tones of the stone and joinery.
