Marrsfield, Clongriffin

Marrsfield is a residential development of 179 apartments and duplex units arranged in three long terraces of up to 5 and 6 storeys over a basement carpark. 91 of the dwellings were constructed as part of the Part V housing for Clongriffin, and the social housing apartments are managed by the Iveagh Trust. A 370m² crèche and Montessori school forms part of the scheme. Brick-faced facades create a solid, consistent edge to Marrsfield Avenue and have a very defined vertical rhythm. Small areas of coloured render, cedar cladding and coloured balcony guardings provide an attractive foil to the red and ochre brick. Entrances occur frequently and provide a great deal of activity at street level. The rear of the building overlooks a 350m long section of the Mayne River linear park which has been landscaped as a natural riparian strip, leading to the Baldoyle estuary.
