Urban Design
Projects classified as urban design are those which create new places at a strategic and local level. Most strategic projects comprise new residential districts which have mixed use local hubs, giving identity and a social focus to new communities. Key urban design principles of these schemes include effective integration into existing contexts and the creation of organic urban environments of a human scale. New urban spaces at a local level reflect the role that they play in the overall townscape in joining up movement routes and providing, through detailed design, a forum for people activity and social interaction.
