Dodder Bridge
“Leaf Bridge” over the Dodder River
The concept for this bridge is of a fallen leaf laid gently over the river. It is constructed of twin steel arches representing the leaf’s edges with a tapered steel “stalk” to support the axis. The function of the stalk is to hold the bridge in a fixed position and stabilise swinging and lateral movement. The deck is semi-transparent green toughened glass, etched with non-slip channels, which will let user see and undestand the technical structure of the bridge.
