Stoneview
Stoneview lands, outside Blarney, are zoned for 2500 dwellings and a neighbourhood centre, focused on a new railway station on the north side of the Dublin-Cork rail line. The Blarney-Kilbarry Local Area Plan required a Masterplan to be prepared, in which CCK was heavily involved. CCK prepared the detailed design for the eastern half of the residential lands and the neighbourhood centre. The urban design philosophy was to create a vibrant urban centre with streets and spaces of a scale similar to traditional Irish towns and a route network that is attractive because of its organic configuration. Connectivity with the residential districts of Stoneview East and West was a key design priority so that the neighbourhood centre, lying in the centre of the lands, is the focus of east-west movement routes.
