Hansfield Main Street North

This area is the gateway entry into the SDZ lands from Ongar Village and the Ongar Road, with landmark buildings marking this junction. The spatial enclosure between buildings has been kept tight with parking in small mews courtyards to the rear of street buildings, overlooked by housing. The main street curves slightly in its configuration so that the village square becomes visible only half-way down. Mixed use residential buildings surround the square. The route of the main street deflects through it creating two triangular zones of south facing pavement and parking. Landscaping proposals were done in conjunction with The Big Space Landscape Architects.
