CCK Energy

CCK is committed to producing sustainable buildings, which by incorporating renewable technologies and more efficient insulating/detailing methods, can aid the Conservation of Fuel and Energy. Part of this process includes providing a Building Energy Rating (BER) certificate.

From the 1st of January 2009, all dwellings will be required to present a BER certificate upon sale or rent. The BER is an objective scale for the energy demand of a car, an electrical appliance and now a home ranging from G (least efficient) to A (most efficient). It allows prospective purchasers and renters to factor the energy performance and running cost into their comparison of different properties.

It will also enable builders and developers to factor in design changes to improve the energy efficiencies of new homes before and during construction stage.

Assessment is carried out using the Dwellings Energy Assessment Procedure (DEAP) which is operated by an Assessor registered with Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI).
