Rockfield

This site, adjacent to the new Dundrum Town Centre shopping mall, is divided by the Luas B line and had to accommodate a large park and ride facility (c.430 spaces). The approach was to construct high density apartments and offices on top of a 2-level carpark and to incorporate the transport stop right into the development. Shops, restaurant, pub and crèche are among the mix of commercial units. A key principle of the scheme was to retain as many of the mature trees as possible and the buildings were designed to curve around significant specimens. Copper clad vaulted roofs and large glazed balconies are a feature of this development.
