Applewood Village

A mixed-use approach to this development was advocated in order to create viable urban and social elements. The village centre at Applewood became the defining element of the residential Area Action Plan, prepared by Conroy Crowe Kelly for Fingal County Council in 1998. The main street is characterised by continuous building form and a high quality public realm. Legibility and permeability were key design objectives. Open spaces and primary routes are clearly defined by the enclosing built edge.
